I’ve just stumbled upon this posting on iTunes. It really shows how little the current mainstream music connects with the people. To me, as a music producer, this also illustrates rather well that regardless of thousands of artists and bands out there, there is still a lot of room left for meaningful, sincere music and songs which are focused on transferring emotions, as opposed to filling the templates:
“I’m a man who listens to the majority of music genres. I enjoy the rock and alternative music that comes out on the free singles and all but, enough’s enough. We need more variety all we got right now is the same stuff each week, something that’ll either make me sleep or blow me away. This week I slept. We need some hip-hop and rap. Don’t put any lil wayne and mainstream crap – unless it has a meaning other than guns, bit**es , sex, and bling. If you got some of that hip-hop/rap with meaning and isn’t dumbed down for the mainly stupid teenagers – that I’m ashamed to be a part of their generation – you know I’ll be spreading the word to everyone. Thanks and take it easy. “
